Blake Nadler: A New Journey at Centennial High School
After transferring from Southern California to Centennial High School in Las Vegas, quarterback Blake Nadler found a renewed football spirit and a strong sense of belonging with his new team, the Bulldogs. Coming off an impressive junior season at Roosevelt High in Eastvale, California—where he threw for 1,589 yards and 16 touchdowns—Nadler was looking for a fresh start and a new environment to further his football journey.
Immediate Impact and Strong Statistics
Nadler, now one of the top high school quarterbacks in Nevada, has made the most of his only season with Centennial. He leads the Bulldogs with a remarkable 63.7 percent completion rate, tallying 1,588 passing yards and 25 touchdowns against just three interceptions. His presence has powered Centennial to an average of 39.8 points and 358.3 total yards of offense per game, marking the Bulldogs as one of the state's most effective offenses.
Leadership and the Desire for Perfection
Standing at 6 feet and 180 pounds, Nadler is highly regarded not just for his skills, but for his leadership. Centennial head coach DJ Campbell credits Nadler with bringing a new standard to the quarterback position, describing his leadership as vocal, demanding, and focused on perfection. "He wants effort. He wants all of that. It’s been great to have because we’ve been wanting that at the quarterback position for a while, and now that we got it, we kind of see why he has the success that he’s had," Campbell said.
A Talented Supporting Cast
The Bulldogs' offense features standouts including wide receiver Jayden Thomas, a Minnesota commit who averages 104.3 receiving yards per game, and UNLV offensive line commit Laseth Bryant. With such talent around him, Nadler has thrown four touchdown passes in each of Centennial's last two wins—a 49-6 victory at Mojave and a 52-26 win over Desert Pines. Nadler credits the team environment, saying, "It was like a family since the minute I stepped on here. They’re all just cool guys and even better football players. … We were clicking right away and we knew this would be the spot for me."
Playoff Implications and Upcoming Challenges
Centennial enters a pivotal matchup against Shadow Ridge with both teams holding 2-1 records in Division I West. As the No. 7 team in the Southern Nevada rankings, the Bulldogs (4-3 overall) will host Shadow Ridge (3-4) with the winner taking the West League’s No. 2 seed and advancing to the Division I Superintendents Cup in-season tournament. The loser will compete in consolation games to round out the season. Coach Campbell emphasized the importance of this game: "We truly realize what’s at stake. We’re treating this like a playoff game."
Nadler’s Recruiting Journey
Nadler’s transfer also affected his college recruitment. Previously committed to the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), his commitment fell through after the school let go of its offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach after the 2025 season. Now, Nadler is open to new opportunities, stating he is ready for any program willing to take a chance on him as his senior season progresses.
Looking Ahead
Centennial’s last playoff run saw them come close to a state title, falling short after a dramatic loss to Faith Lutheran. With Nadler steering the offense and setting a high bar for effort and focus, the Bulldogs are determined to surpass last year’s result and chase both perfection and a championship this season.
